2009 Grand Slam Final Qualifiers

This page lists the results for the biggest night of the year for Houston Poetry Slam: the Grand Slam Final for the 2009 season. There will be two bouts at 7pm and 9pm and the top two places from each bout become the 2009 Houston Slam Team. The top 3rd place finisher will become the alternate unless a team comes in second in the second bout.

I decided to configure these bouts based on top seed versus low seed match ups. As a reward the top ranking poet gets to chose their spot in the first round. Based on the standings, the finals bouts will look like this, assuming the top rankers chose to go last in the 1st round:
