The Slammaster is the chief executive officer for Houston Poetry Slam authorized by the Wrighter’s Ink Articles of Incorporation and bylaws to organize poetry slam events in accordance with the certification requirements of Poetry Slam Incorporated and enforce local and national poetry slam rules for the local slam.

Houston Poetry Slam is the flagship program of Wrghiter’s Ink, a Texas non-profit corporation. The Wrighter’s Ink mission is to promote literacy to adults and youths through performance poetry.
