Houston Poetry Slam is ready to come to you. Our focus in the past has been on establishing one central location for our slams, thinking that a central location would be convenient for our patrons. We have actually been attracting poets and patrons from all over the city, but we’ve noticed that those who come from the farthest reaches of the metropolis stop coming even though they love the slam when they see it. This huge city has always demanded that it’s citizens rely on automobiles to get around town, and the ever increasing cost of fuel is making that harder.
We still want a central location (a venue on Houston Ave would be perfect). But we want at least four more. Got a coffee shop or bar in your North side, East side, West side, or South side community that you think would be perfect for a poetry slam?
