Houston Poetry Slam Is Open to Diversity

We want the Houston Slam Team to represent the diversity of our city’s many communities. We’re open to poets of all races, creeds, and gender. But if the Houston Slam Team is to be truly representative of our city – then you have to show up and compete. So whether you’re from the Hispanic community, African American community, Asian, Arab, Iranian, Caucasian, gay, straight or Amish – just show up at the next open slam and compete. If you’re not sure about competition yet, then share your work on the open mic.
