The VerbosCity Houston Poetry Slam Showcase includes our head-to-head slam, a poet or two spotlighted on the open mic, a featured poet, and our late slam – usually a 4×4. We’re at the Avauntgarden every third Wednesday of each month.
From February – July we have a Summer Slam series in which poets from all over the city have a chance to win $101! Come watch your favorite poets in action and cheer them on, after you boo the low scoring judges.
From August – January we have our Houston Slam Team Qualifying season, in which poets compete all season to try to make the Houston Slam Team. You don’t want to miss some of the hottest poets in Houston competing for spots on the team.
By the way, parking at the venue is limited, so get to the venue early to park in the lot. There is plenty of parking on the side streets nearby – just pay attention to the no parking signs.
